Lighting Design Service

Lighting design services can be divided into 4 phases, including 3 design phases and the construction supervision.

·Establishing the Lighting Program and Lighting Concepts >>>

The conceptual development of a successful lighting design begins with close communication between our team and the architect/interior designers/client, establishing an intimate dialogue with the design architect aiming at understanding the space, functionality and focus, grasping the desire of architecture design so as to establish lighting design criteria and concept.

·Preliminary Design>>>

Based on the constant dialogue with the architect and the client, and feedbacks from all levels of our professional staff, numerous tests, mock-ups and experiments made in the Light & View Lab, we are able to demonstrate a preliminary fixture sketch, budget and equipment design.

·Design Development Process>>>

Following confirmation by the client on the preliminary design, our design phase move onto the details of the sketches, equipment specifications, control circuits, final lighting calculations and technical documents for tender

·Construction Administration>>>

During construction administration we coordinate the final implementation of the lighting design details. We assist the client, architect and general contractor in evaluating qualified bidders, review all shop drawings for design intent conformance, visit the job site to inspect the installation, supervise the aiming and adjustment of the fixtures, and prepare a complete lighting management plan for a successful project.

·Phase 1---Conceptual Design:

Conceptual design focuses on analysis and forecast on the effects and methodology of lighting in order to formulate an instructive document for future development. The conceptual development may include the following activities:

  • ·Understanding the intention of the architect design and the requirements of the client
  • ·Analyzing the architectural space and functions and clarifying the interface
  • ·Identifying the goals and direction of the project
  • ·Establishing lighting design criteria and concept

·Phase 2----Preliminary design:

Further to the conceptual design, preliminary design provides more details that would cover a more detailed analysis on design plan and lighting effect.

  • ·Draft equipment planning
  • ·Lighting intensity
  • ·Lighting effect rendering
  • ·Special equipment design
  • ·Lighting control system design
  • ·Budgeting

·Phase 3---Design development process

Following the above two phases, more detailed and specific analysis on the technical factors, method of realization and cost control are made to submit to the client a complete package material to enable them in purchasing and installation engineer. The package material would include:

  • ·Detailed lighting fixture plan
  • ·Equipment specifications and description
  • ·Controlling circuits drawings
  • ·Detailed drawings
  • ·Illumination analysis report
  • ·Lighting control system design details
  • ·Budget

·Phase 4----Construction Supervision:

Quality of the construction engineering is of vital importance to ensure the implementation of the lighting design. Purchasing the right equipment, equipment positioning, aiming, and installation methods will affect the quality of lighting during operation. Supervision will be given to the developer and construction team respectively on:

  • ·Providing assistance to the developer in purchasing
  • ·Supervising installation during construction and installation
  • ·Supervising adjustment of the fixtures
  • ·Periodic and final testing and evaluation of lighting effect
